Supervision

I offer supervision to practising counsellors and psychotherapists and allied health professionals (trainees, newly qualified and experienced) working from a range of theoretical orientations, whatever your stage of development or context of work.  I am a Visiting Tutor at York St John University where I facilitate group supervision (as well as personal development groups and counselling skills practise) with students studying the Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling.

My approach to supervision is humanistic-integrative and emphasises the support role of supervision.  It is my hope that we will develop a collaborative supervisory relationship which makes it feel possible for you to bring all aspects of your work for further reflection - especially areas which may feel difficult to talk about, where you may feel a sense of regret, shame or embarrassment or judgement of 'bad' work.  I am equally keen to celebrate and learn about work you feel has gone well.  I hope to offer you an open, reflective space where we can be creative and experimental in our approach to the dilemmas, concerns, uncertainties and rewards each of us face as practitioners.

In my own practice, supervision is fundamental to my sense of well-being and capacity to manage a large case-load.  I am passionate about the value of quality supervision and keen to offer supervisees an experience which influences your personal and professional development and supports you to continue to support your clients in a way which feels purposeful, focused, ethical and rewarding.  I will initiate regular reviews of our work with the aim of ensuring our supervisory relationship is meeting your needs.

I offer one 30-minute initial discussion to help us both decide if we would like to work together.
I do not charge for this over the telephone / video call.
If you prefer to have a longer initial conversation in person, I charge my usual session fee for this.

Training

My Supervisor training (Diploma in Supervision of Individuals and Groups) is accredited by the National Council for Psychotherapists (NCP) and was truly integrative in nature, to equip me to support professionals working from a broad range of theoretical orientations - including Existential, Gestalt, Person-centred, CBT, TA, Somatic, Psychodynamic, and those of us who are integrative in our approach.  This training was delivered by leading professionals in their respective modalities including Professor Ernesto Spinelli, Glenn Nicholls, Dr. Michael Worrell, Tom Warnecke, Manu Bazzano and Dr. Heather Pryce.

I welcome contact from you

I look forward to hearing from you and learning about your supervisory needs.
